Meet the Dentists
Kirk Shillinger, DDS
A.K.A. "Doctor Kirk"
“Dr. Kirk” was born and raised in Aberdeen, WA. He attended the University of Washington, graduating with a degree in Zoology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, graduating in 2000. After returning home to the Northwest to begin his career, he joined Dentus in 2007 as an associate and then became an owner /partner in 2009. He happily makes his home in Vancouver with his wife Sara, daughters Audrey (12) and Ellie (9), and a rescued Labrador Retriever named Annie.
He enjoys all facets of general dentistry and loves the variety that it brings. He is also very proud of the staff that works at Dentus. “I feel very lucky to work with such a great group of people. Everyone here is not only very good at their job, but are also wonderful and caring people. They are responsible for the great atmosphere here at the office and make practicing dentistry easier and more enjoyable.”
When not working in the office, Dr. Kirk enjoys spending time with his family; watching basketball and football; reading; riding his bicycle and hiking. He volunteers and serves on the board of the Cascadia Technical Academy Dental Program.
Jacqueline Angell, DDS
A.K.A. "Doctor Angell"
Dr. Angell’s engaging personality and gentle chairside manner are two qualities that keep clients returning to this practice. She truly listens to her patients and their needs. Though she was born in the Midwest she also calls the Northwest home. Bringing the feelings of home and comfort to her patients is a daily focus. She uses techniques that provide this sort of comfort to those who tend to experience anxiety while receiving dental care, including complimentary oral sedation.
With nearly 15 years of experience and a progressive approach to dentistry, she is skilled in treating patients of all ages. Dr. Angell’s talents extend well beyond general dental care. She has special experience and training in dental reconstruction, with a conservative approach to saving and repairing damaged teeth. Additionally, Dr. Angell has rejuvenated numerous smiles by skillfully placing and restoring dental implants. She is proficient at third molar (wisdom teeth) extractions and all aspects of surgical procedures. Dr. Angell continues to stay current with all parts of her practice by proactively incorporating the techniques and processes that are the very best for those she serves.
From Minnesota to the Netherlands, Dr. Angell boasts a rich educational history. The University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry provided an outstanding foundation for her chosen field. Her studies in the Netherlands included advanced bonding techniques that resulted in a greater knowledge of tooth-colored restorations.
In addition to her passion for Dentistry, Dr. Angell is an outdoor and environmental enthusiast who loves a great hike in the Gorge, good friends, and a good IPA. "Dr. Jacque", as she is called by many of the children in her life, currently shares her home with two of her God daughters and is thrilled to be a direct part of their college years.
Volunteering her time and talents for the benefit of those in need is vastly important to Dr. Angell. Her service to others extends far beyond the walls of Dentus Dental Center. Lives and smiles have been enhanced by Dr. Angell all over the world, as she spends significant time volunteering locally, nationally and internationally. Soon she will donate her time and talents to those in Togo, Africa.

Christopher Pearce, DDS
A.K.A. "Doctor Pearce"
Dr. Christopher Pearce completed his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota. Dentistry, along with his sense of adventure, has taken Pearce to multiple countries, including Guatemala and Uganda for volunteer work and clinical training in Bergen, Norway. Dr. Pearce began practicing in Bellingham and returns to the Pacific Northwest to join our team after practicing for several years in Madison, WI.
Dr. Pearce appreciates that each patient is unique and the best care is accomplished by working together, using evidence-based decision-making. Whether it’s restoring confidence or improving functionality, Dr. Pearce’s satisfaction as a dentist comes from improving the lives of his patients. His skillset includes endodontics (root canal treatment), surgical procedures, cosmetics, and clear aligners (as an alternative to braces). Dr. Pearce has also completed advanced training in implant placement and restoration. He finds helping his patients to replace a single tooth or an entire smile to be particularly rewarding.
When not at work, Dr. Pearce enjoys food, the outdoors, and his family. He is looking forward to becoming involved in the community and is excited to explore all that the area offers in temperatures that rarely fall below freezing. He will never pass up an opportunity to talk about his wife, bird, and dogs.
